I had a great time at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston this year, and I will definitely be back next year. I met with a lot of Oil & Gas publishers, drilling technology firms, and even some of the oil majors. But it was meeting with the Trade Promotion Bureau of Brazil, and with the Energy Industries Council for the United Kingdom that impressed me the most. They both have a truly good representative capacity at the OTC, and it was a pleasure meeting with them. I also met many business professionals during the breakfast and lunch sessions that focused on Brazil’s improving conditions for international investment in furtherance of a free market environment. As an American, I am glad to see that Brazil has chosen to not go down the path of Venezuela in spoiling its commodities with blind protectionism. This is why I invested so heavily in Brazilian Oil & Gas domains, and this is why I believe a long term holding period for this share of my portfolio is worth the wait.
