As the global energy sector plans for the continued disruption from emerging disruptive technologies, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia takes a note from the history books. As peak oil appears to be approaching, the KSA is looking for a capital city for its technological and energy sectors to diversify its economy. Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud has announced the founding of a futuristic global megalopolis from the ground up. The city has been aptly named “NEOM” from the Latin word for new “neo,” as well as the Arabic word for future “mostaqbal.” The Kingdom plans on bankrolling the project for $500 Billion. But that’s only the beginning of the funding. There are also some high profile investors to back up the ambition to create an inclusive modern city within the KSA’s regional influence to rival Dubai. CEO of Blackstone Stephen Schwartzman, former Chairman and CEO of Alcoa Klaus Kleinfeld, and CEO of Softbank Masayoshi Son just to name a few. As a part of the KSA’s Vision 2030 the city will undoubtedly help KSA “… be an exemplary and leading nation in all aspects..,” King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
In celebration of such ambition we have invested in a “NEOM” centric portfolio for your branding needs.
