I first started selling vinyl records online at the turn of the century. I quickly learned the value of learning how to do things oneself due to the extremely high costs of hiring coders, graphics design artists, and payments processing vendors. Needless to say I know how to stretch a dollar. Shortly after starting this business the Global War on Terror began and the world as we knew it changed and brought me with it.
After serving in combat in both Iraq and Afghanistan, I returned home to continue my passion for music. Unfortunately times had changed. My business of selling vinyl records had been outpaced by competing markets. Digital media had taken hold for the foreseeable future. I learned that when one sits still in the water, the waves will come crashing in nonetheless. I had to learn how to adapt.
Change is good. After pursuing an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Doctorate Degree I decided to utilize my past learnings as a web geek. But my old vinyl wholesaler and importer had packed up shop due to the changing times. Instead of selling goods online I realized the value of owning intellectual property interests online. Specifically the investment value of Domain Names. What started as only a few domains quickly grew to several hundred. I utilized my experience as an analyst, entrepreneur, and techie to find niche vertical markets and invest in their key word domain name share.
I reside in the Houston metropolitan area. I have a successful career outside of my domain investments. I obviously like coffee, but an iced tea isn’t a bad idea either. I also like to fish off of Galveston Beach, scuba dive, and shoot guns. Needless to say I’m a typical Texan. Ya’ll can e-mail me via Lee@JavaMedia.com.
